John Allen Taylor grew up in Los Angeles, CA, completed his bachelors in Spokane, WA, and finished his masters in Boston, MA. He coordinates the Writing Center at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and teaches writing. He has worked in the writing centers at Whitworth University, Boston Architectural College, & Emerson College, where he also completed an MFA in poetry & taught in the First Year Writing Program.

He directs the Adroit Journal Summer Mentorship Program, which pairs high school writers with established writers in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.

He lives in Ypsilanti, Michigan with his wife, two cats, and a dog named Cricket.
